On the afternoon of September25, Du Youwei, an academician（院士）at the Chinese Academyof Sciences（中国科学院）, a fa-mous expert of magnets（磁学）and magnetic materials（磁性材料）and a professor of NanjingUniversity, came to our SeniorHigh School and gave an inspi-rational（励志的）lecture titled（题目为）"Let your youth fly" tothe teachers andstudents.At first, Mr. Du encouraged stu-dents to have ambitious dreams. Hesaid it is easy for ambitious（志向远大 的）children to succeed, and hegavesomeexamplesoffamousscien-tists from China and abroad. Hethinks that Middle School is the mostimportant stage in life. After having a dream,we should take efforts to realize our own dreams. He said, "Genius(天才) isn't born, but it comes from hard work."
Besides this, Mr. Du encouraged students to get into the natureof cultivating（培养）curiosity（好奇心）and creative thinking（创造性思 维）. We can't make our dreamscome true easily, but if we make un-remitting efforts（坚持不懈的努力）and never give up, we will be successful in the end.
Finally, Mr. Du put forward（提出）hisexpectations（期望）forall the students. He hoped thatwe would cherish（珍惜）whatwe have, especially our lives. Healsohopedthatwewouldbeop-timistic（乐观的）, united（团结的）andkindpeopleaswell.During the lecture, Mr. Duused plenty of examples and po-ems to explain a person's life indifferent stages. After his speech,the audience's applause（掌声）continued for a long time. After that,many students took photos with Mr.Du, and asked him for his signature（签名）.I believe that this lecture has movedall the students, and a seed of sciencehas been planted in our hearts. Thisseminar will encourage us to workhard and to bravely realize ourdreamsinthefuture.
